What if I tell you that you can actually generate more by doing less?
A couple of years ago a good friend recommended a book and it has greatly changed the perspective I had about being productive. After 20+ years of corporate experience I was always feeling I wasn’t doing enough and my day didn’t have enough hours. Investing time in things that matter to me or that would help me have a better future never made it to the priorities list.
In this past year of flying solo and putting together my business, these 3 concepts have helped me tremendously to start building the life I want:
1. Identify your Core Values
What are your values? What are the top 3 priorities you’d like to accomplish in the next year(s)? Everything starts by having clarity on what’s important to you.
2. Say NO Like There’s No Tomorrow
See that opportunity that looks great, is challenging, pays great, comes from a great client, but is not aligned to your priorities? Say NO.
Probably the most difficult thing I had to get myself to do. But not every door leads to where you want to go.
3. Focus and Enjoy the Process
Discipline and consistency can take you places where motivation can’t.
And for me, it’s not so much about getting to destination but more the things that I learn and experience while getting there.
